Cremerie de Paris
a "tech hotspot"
since 1671
VB ... the Villeroys
et the Bourbons
Cremeries de Paris
are located around
square Marguerite de Navarre,
sortie 1 / exit 1 du the metro hub Chatelet les Halles,
.
The story of VB and Cremerie de Paris
goes back to the year 1129.
The Neufville family,
later Neufville de Villeroy, then de Villeroy
were food merchants at the Paris Les Halles food market.
1370 The Villeroys arrive rue des Bourdonnais
in an old mansion.
Over time the Villeroys,
owner of the VB mansion
become advisors of the Bourbons,
the Kings of France ....
Marguerite de Navarre already came by as
she was a friend of Nicolas II de Villeroy.
She was also a friend of the
artist Leonardo da Vinci
and the sister of King Francois 1st
Marguerite already knew Cremerie de Paris No9
which is located on the spot of a former convent.
Her 2 x great grandson Louis XIV came to VB
which was is school building and the home of his teacher
Nicolas V de Villeroy.
1671 January 21
the Villeroys sold VB
planning to move to the future Versailles palace.
A new hi-tech adventure arrives .
two entrepreneurs Leon Pajot (1625 - 1668)
and Louis Rouille (1630 - 1694) aquire VB
where they found the "Royal French Postal Services",
a private company transporting mail
for the Kings of France.
A story that left
and a story that returned:
Louis Leon Pajot, grandson of the two company founders
needed a mail exchange partner,
Anselm Franz,
2nd Prince of Thurn & Taxis (1681 - 1740)
General Postmaster of the Thurn & Taxis Post
based in Brussels and Franckfurt
in the Habsbourg territories.
Louis XIV (1638 - 1715)
appreciated La Poste
based at the VB mansion,
a place he knew from his childhood.
His successor Louis XV (1710 - 1774)
was annoyed by the wealt of La Poste.
1738 Mai 21 Louis XV withdraws the postal license from VB.
The mansion falls asleep.
End of a story.
1986 Mai the story returns
Johannes, 11th Prince of Thurn & Taxis
loved to push young people he made by coincidence.
After showing the VB mansion to a student
he believed
the energy of the old postmasters
was still around
- sleeping since 248 years - in the walls of VB.
He decided to used some Thalers
he hade inherited fro the old Postmsters
to make the story return ...
1986 mai the adventures
starts with a small next door Phone Boutique
turning 1995 into the first Paris Internetcafe
where was invented
Phone Book of the World
The magic of Cremerie de Paris
and it's avant garde web access
connected VB with many US Techn Pioneers
looking for internet while traveling
through the French capital.
One was on the first flight to the moon,
another had invented dot com
and others were young students
travelling through France with a backpack
Nowbody knew who they were,
maybe they didn't know it themselves ...
Today they return to Cremerie de Paris
not with a backpack
but with a Pop Up Store
of a
brand they have
created in the meantime,
making VB
become a
Meeting Place of the World's most famous Brands
.
