The Metallica band:
discover the history of Metallica

A Music Pop Up Store
rooting in centuries of history
including Sony history

The history of VB and of Cremerie de Paris
goes back to the year 1129.

portail Cremerie de Paris
During the times of the Villeroys,
that lived at the house from 1370 to 1671
many cultural things happened at the house,
but our history is more know for books
than for musics.
Many Litterary meeting from Renaissance writers
of the Pleiade movement.

Louis XIV, Coca Cola
The Villeroys were advisors of the Bourbons,
Kings of France.
The most famous occupant
of the mansion was a child,
young Louis XIV,
The house, owned by his teacher
Nicolas V de Villeroy
was his school.

1671 Preparing his château de Versailles
Louis XIV invited the Villeroy children
to live at the future palace.

VB, the Hotel de Villeroy Bourbon was sold
to become the seat of an
avant-garde "Hi Tech" company,
La Poste.

The Royal French Postal Services
were owned by a private family,
It lasted for less than a century until 1738,
but the old Postmasters
are directly connected
with todays Cremerie de Paris,
the home of the Metallica Pop Up Store.

Again many musiciens came to the house,
but documents of all the many music events
were lost during the French Révolution.

Louis XIV, Coca Cola
1920 Igor Stravinsky. is the first musician
whose name is known in the history of VB.
Stravinsky lived in Garches
(a small city on the west of Paris)
He stayed at the Villa Bel Respiro,
the home of the designer Coco Chanel.

Cremerie de Paris en 1910
Chanel had a fascination for Cremerie de Paris.
She had discovered it
thanks to her boyfriend Dmitri Romanov.
Cremerie de Paris was a fairytale
for the Romanov children that grew up in Saint Petersburg.
Anastasia a cousin of Dmitri
and great aount of today's Cremerie de Paris
is the best known,
her destiny inspired many movies.

the jewel would one day play a key role
in the history of Cremerie de Paris.

1986 Cremerie de Paris,
abandonned in 1971 after the end
of the famous Paris Les Halles foodmarket
reopens as a small Repair shop for
Sony phones.

The phone are extremely beautiful,
but due a monopoly of the European PTTs
people can't buy them.
They start bringing them
returning from a trip to the United States.
The phones connect Cremerie de Paris
with all kinds of impossible to meet
"Audio Visual people"

1987 'Akio Morita has a vision for Music
Sony buys CBS Records.

1988 Lady Diana,
one of the clients from the little Boutique
at the time called "Electrica for Sony"
creats a magic connection
between Cremerie de Paris and Akio Morita.

1993 The revenues from the Sony phones,
from Mr Morita's Walkman
and the little jewel left by Coco Chanel
make it possible to reopen
Cremerie de Paris No1,
home of the Metallica Pop Up Store

as if Gabrille Chanel
that had left this world 22 years before
had decided to continue the fairy tales of the past.

1995 Cremerie de Paris opens the
first Internet Cafe in France.
After the departure of Akio Morita
from Sony management,
links between the the company from Japan
and Cremerie de Paris start to fade away.

1999 Cremerie de Paris invents
